When your music goes live on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, or Amazon Music, something happens…
How to Claim Your Amazon Music for Artists Profile
Amazon Music for Artists gives you streaming analytics, Alexa voice-request data, playlist pitching tools, and control over your profile image and bio. Here’s how the official claim process works.
Before you start
- At least one release must already be live on Amazon Music, delivered through a distributor or label.
- You’ll need an Amazon retail account — the same kind of account you’d use to shop on Amazon. If you don’t have one, you can create one for free during sign-up.
Step-by-step: claiming your profile
- Go to Amazon Music for Artists (artists.amazonmusic.com) on the web, or download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Sign in with your Amazon account.
- Search for your artist name and select the correct profile from the results.
- Select Claim.
- Fill out the verification form. Amazon asks you to prove your relationship to the artist through one or more of the following:
- Authenticate through your distributor (if you’re a CD Baby, DistroKid, TuneCore, or TuneCore Japan artist, this often grants instant access).
- Connect your official social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, or X) where your name matches the email address you’re using to claim.
- Link to an official artist website or a management company website that lists you.
- Submit your request and wait for an email confirming approval.
Amazon doesn’t publish a fixed review timeline. Claims verified instantly through a supported distributor tend to go through fastest; claims that rely on manual review can take longer, especially if your name, socials, and distributor metadata don’t clearly match up.
After you’re approved
Once verified, you can:
- Update your profile picture and background image — keep these current, especially around release day.
- Review your streaming analytics and Alexa voice-request data.
- Pitch upcoming releases for Amazon Music editorial consideration.
- Create promotional “Hype Cards” to share your release with fans.
- Add team members under Settings → Manage Team Members, with roles ranging from Owner and Admin (full control) to Viewer (data access only).
A note for labels and distributors
If you manage a full roster or catalog, Amazon asks that you not claim artist profiles one by one through the standard flow — there’s a separate access path built specifically for labels and distributors managing many artists at once.
